Hi, the website is under construction.
Please check back later as I am finishing the site.
Thankyou. Virgo Noir is a musical artist and amongst
artists in a world where aethetics are the essense of their
life and longings. The definition of Noir: Serious, black
etc.... (Pronouncation Fr.;'Nwär) The definition of Virgo:
Maiden etc.. Marissa Elienne (Mar-EE-sa Ee-LEE-en) is a
"maiden,"she is neither gothic nor dark. She is fond of the
color black, yet her music is very colorful, lively and
animated. She also gravitates towards light, happy and
uplifting music. Her work is progressive, sometimes
traditional, world influenced and influenced by most musicial
artforms; European folk, Psychedelica, Latin, Asian, Middle Eastern,
Medieval, Celtic, Jazz, Classical, Rock, Blues etc.... As a
serious student of music, Marissa studied Bel Canto singing
for ten years with Marianne Casiello, a faculty member of The
Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. Marianne Casiello
has resently retired from Curtis Institute. Marisa grew up in
New Jersey and Philadelphia area and was brought up by a
musically obsessed mother, who was a piano teacher and an
advanced level pianist. Both of her parents were very
appreciative of the arts and they were natives of New York
City, taking their family to many cultural events from a very
early age. Marissa studied guitar and piano for numbers of
years. She also studied Bel Canto style of singing for three
additional years from other teachers. Writing music was at the
forefront of her mind from the beginning and she studied
composition privately for about three years and went to
Westminster Choir College and other colleges to take music
courses. She is mostly a self-taught writer and arranger.
Marissa studied both classical guitar and classical
piano as well as learning how to play congas and bambo flutes.
Her improvizational tendencies led her into a world of
innovation, esoteric images all coming from a place of deep
introspection and sensitivity to the world around her. She
started performing professionally as a thirteen year old child
and then went on to perform in many concert settings, clubs,
weddings, and many other venues. Her music is not a reflection
of any particular institution but a reflection of her love for
beauty that goes on and on.
